Shop Food/Health

For any Irish person living in London and missing their favourite foods, the Irish Centre recently opened it new Irish Shop 'An Siopa' - which means that you don't have to wait until your next trip to the Emerald Isle to get specific brands that you love.

The shop is based at The London Irish Centre which has a long tradition of serving and supporting the Irish community in London, and has even had visits from Presidents of Ireland such as Mary Robinson and Michael D. Higgins as well as other political and cultural figures

Long History

The London Irish Centre is well-established in the Camden area having been there for more than sixty years after Catholic priests opened the organisation to support Irish emigrants. The centre has remained a key hub for Irish people with it's prime location near Euston Station, and the core activities remain charitable in nature and entail providing assistance to Irish expats in London as well as a range of cultural, music and language classes and concerts.

Favourite Brands

The shop, which is based in the Camden area at 50-52 Camden Square, has many typical Irish household brands that will be familiar to Irish people and their extended families residing in or visiting the capital city. Irish food in stock includes Barry's Tea, McDonnell's Curry Sauce, Tayto, Nash's red lemonade and Diona to name a few, and this is just for starters!

Plans to Expand

At the moment the shop is concentrating on non-perishable goods such as tins, jams, biscuits, soup and chocolate, but there are plans to expand the range with other tasty Irish food such as Clonakilty sausages and other delicious items. It is envisaged that other well-known Irish produce will soon become available in the large freezer that has been installed in the shop, and this will be eagerly anticipated by customers old and new. As The London Irish Centre is renowned as the largest Irish organization in the world there should be no shortage of visitors in the near future!
