Flavoured butter isn't really an innovation, to say the least: garlic or pepper butters may already be in your kitchen. You can now spice up your cooking a little more and go beyond the basics with Tesco's new flavoured butter range. The range is manufactured for Tesco by Mr Crumb, an Irish food company, and has been in development for six month before production could start. The range offers four flavours: Garlic & Herb, Three Peppercorn, Red Chilli and Lemon, and a sweet tooth option with Chocolate Chip and Maple Syrup.
“I'm particularly excited about the unique sweet option, Chocolate Chip and Maple Syrup butter. Perfect for simply spreading on to toast, pancakes and melting over brioche, or used as a sweet cheat's ingredient for quick cookies, or as a twist to bread & butter pudding” said Emma Ahmed, Tesco UK NPD Manager, suggesting that more flavours could be developed with Mr Crumb. In the meantime, Tesco's new flavoured butter are available for £0.79 each (100g log).
