Adrienne and Gordon MacAulay founded Ness, in Edinburgh almost twenty years ago. Tweed blazers, knitwear, coats or bags: Ness offers a "contemporary womenswear & accessories range with a Scottish twist". The company grows slowly but surely with already more than a dozen brand stores in the UK, many stockists across the country as well as several distributors worldwide.
Ness inaugurated a new store in Yorkshire last July and Aberdeen is the next step. The 1,650 square feet store, the first in Aberdeen and in the North-east, is located in the Bon Accord & St Nicholas Shopping Centres, joining H&M, Office Shoes or Top Shop in this prestigious mall.
Ness has even bigger plans in mind. Adrienne and Gordon MacAulay's target is to open 40 stores in the UK within five years, including four to five new locations before Christmas. Harrogate, Leamington Spa, Norwich and Perth have been named. Overseas, China, Japan and the US are the next (and ambitious) goals. Last but no least, Ness will also improve its online service which has been having hard times following the company's expansion.
