Rockar is an innovative digital way to buy a car without the need to visit a car showroom or deal with sales staff. The Rockar application enables you to carry out every part of the car buying process online. This includes gaining an up to date valuation of your existing car, researching new cars, choosing the colour and specification of the vehicle of your choice and arranging finance terms if needed.
You can also arrange a test drive online; the app will tell you what vehicles are available and they simply book a time slot.
Research has shown that although many people carry out their research when considering the purchase of a new vehicle at home and only visit the showrooms once they are actually ready to buy it, this is still viewed as an intimidating experience. Rockar is designed to give complete control to the customer and they have the ability to complete their purchase without actually speaking to anyone.
The Rockar stores though do have Rockar Angels on hand in case any customers experience difficulties. The Angels do not receive any bonuses or commission for sales completed so there is no incentive for them to put any sort of pressure on customers.
The proposed Manchester store will be the fourth one to open and Rockar are currently planning a total of eight across the UK. The current Bluewater and Westfield stores sell Hyundai cars while the Westfield Stratford store offers Land Rovers. It has not been stated which brand of car will be sold from the Manchester store but Rockar have stated that they hope to extend their stores to include other brands.
The company was started in 2012 by Simon Dixon who was the former head of Dixon Motors, one of the largest car retailers in the UK. His aim was to take the frustration out of the car buying experience and empower customers.
