Previously, it has only been available in the UK either from a concession in Harrods or online. The new London store can be found in Conduit Street in Mayfair, one of the most exclusive parts of London which has recently seen an influx of luxury brands such as Isaia and Goat. It will have the ready to wear collections for both men and women plus the BlackBarrett fitness range. The extensive 2152 square feet space will also sell children's wear, accessories and the brand's footwear range.
The concept for the London store has involved it being divided into three separate areas. Each of these areas will be made distinctive with the use of specific colours and textures for each area with surrounding mirrors and reflective surfaces. Suspended ceiling lights have been used to highlight specific parts of the collection. The design of the store has been inspired by the one used for the original Neil Barrett store in Milan which opened in 2002. That was designed by the late Zaha Hadid and the new London store will feature some of his furniture throughout.
Neil Barrett, who was born in Devon in England and studied here before moving to Italy to work with Gucci has expressed his excitement about returning to his roots and opening a standalone London store stating that finally UK customers will be able to see his collections in an environment that has been specifically designed to display them. The opening of a Neil Barrett store in London is a natural progression for the brand who already have standalone stores in China, Italy and Japan. The brand is expected to make further expansion into Europe in the future.
