Fans of the franchise, are sure to be delighted with the news and might well choose to make the pilgrimage to London to get their hands on some of the special Pokémon merchandise that will be on sale.
One of the reasons for opening of the new Pokémon Center is the impending release of Pokémon Sword and Shield. These new games which will be based on a new region in the world of Pokémon known as Galar will be released for the Nintendo Switch on November 15th 2019. The store is planned as a way to celebrate the arrival of the new games. It is thought that Galar is based on the British Isles and that this is the reason why London has been chosen as the location for the new store. It also means that fans will be able to get their hands on merchandise that has not yet been seen anywhere else. Perhaps there might even be merchandise featuring new Pokémon that are set to star in the upcoming games. There will certainly be plenty of merchandise, including clothes and toys for fans to get their hands on once the store opens.
The new Pokémon Center in London will certainly not be the first of its kind. The most famous and largest centre is located in Tokyo and is incredibly popular with fans of the games. It is seen as a kind of mecca as fans head there to pick up almost any kind of merchandise that they can conceive of. For a long time Centres could only be found in Japan, where the game originated from but since the popularity of Pokémon Go, centres have started to spring up in different locations across the world, although they do only tend to be pop-up versions. It is thought that should the game continue to increase in popularity, more stores might open. It is speculated that some of these might even become permanent fixtures. The new store opening in London is strictly temporary in celebration of the new Sword and Shield versions of the game. It is believed, however, that the venue might become a permanent Pokestop once the store closes.
