Aldi is a growing supermarket chain, they are the fifth biggest chain in the country and the fastest growing, who knows if they carry on they might even take over the top position. The supermarket chain does seem to be following a pattern of opening up stores in residential areas throughout towns and really getting involved in the communities and this new shop is no exception to the rule.
The store is set to open on Thursday, April 25th at 8 am and the people of Doncaster will be rewarded with exclusive offers that will run throughout the day. The first 30 customers through the door will also be given bags of fruit and vegetables from the Aldi Super 6 range. The opening ceremony will be performed by Katy Marchant, Olympic bronze medallist in cycling. Katy will be cutting a ribbon and will be on hand to talk to customers about her Olympic experience and her lifestyle choices. She is said to be very excited about the event and to be able to express her gratitude to Aldi for their commitment to British cycling.
Aldi is trying to modernise the layouts in their branches, and this new shop in Doncaster will feature their new design. Customers can expect a 'food to go' section as well as large chillers and freezers. There will also be a large section of Aldi's award-winning wines, beer and spirits as well as a section with their exclusive beauty products. Customers will also be keen to learn that the shop will also take part in the 'Aldi Special buys' promotion that sees products refreshed in the branch every Thursday. This promotion gives customers the chance to purchase anything from gardening equipment to exercise gear or even camping paraphernalia.
This new store will open up a large number of job opportunities in the Doncaster area. Aldi is aiming to have 1200 branches by 2025 and to really be a leader when it comes to investing in local communities. With five stores already in Doncaster, they certainly are making a difference to the area. The address for the new store is Chruch Street, Armthorpe, DN3 3AG and they will open 8 am - 10 pm Monday to Saturday and 10 am - 4 pm on Sundays.
