Aldi's taking one more tiny step in the world of luxury. Last Christmas, the discounter put on the shelves products such as crab, lobster or serrano ham to celebrate the holiday season. Today it's caviar, but not to be eaten. It's caviar in a firming cream and it's as cheap as you would expect but it does the job and it does it really well.
Aldi's Lacura Caviar Illumination line first launched in Australia almost a year ago, with great success. There's no doubt that it's going to be a huge buzz here too, especially with such low prices. The “original” caviar day cream, from La Prairie, costs nearly £300. Aldi's prices start at £6.99. So is it as efficient as La Prairie's? Almost, according to the Daily Mail.
Lacura Caviar Illumination line includes a day cream with SPF15 and a night cream, both £6.99 for a 50ml pot. For even better results, you can complete your skincare routine with the 3 Minute Cell Renewal Peel Mask (£6.99) and the 7 Day Intensive Treatment (£7.99). Aldi's caviar creams have one problem, though: they're Specialbuys. Which means they won't be available for a long time.
