Morrison's is a major UK food retailer, started by William Morrison in 1899 as an egg and butter stall in Bradford Market. The first Morrison's supermarket opened in 1961, and the company went public in 1967. In the coming years, Morrison's opened food warehouses and distribution sites, and its stores went national. In 2008, Morrison's claimed the UK's top three retail industry awards. Also in recent years, the company opened its first convenience store, started a low-cost food brand, and offered thousands of youth apprenticeships. In 2013, Morrison's opened its 500th store.
Morrison's has become known for a large selection of British-sourced foods, such as beef, lamb, and pork. In addition to high-quality groceries, Morrison's offers home goods, garden items, dry cleaning, a pharmacy, and petrol, in some locations. The company has begun various environmental initiatives, and online home food delivery is now available. Morrison's takes pride in its good food, efficiency, and outstanding service.

Morrisons announced last week the launch of a milk brand to support dairy farmers. Each bottle will cost an extra 10p per litre, directly donated to dairy farmers.
Starting today, shopping in England will eventually cost you an extra 5p for the plastic carrier bag, unless you bring your own shopping bag, or shop in smaller stores.
To support dairy farmers in the UK, Morrisons launched a Milk For Farmers range this autumn. The supermarket is now taking a further step and raises its milk prices a little bit more.
