Costa Coffee was founded by brothers Bruno Costa and Sergio in London in 1971. The company started its operations as a wholesale operation. It supplied roasted coffee to specialist Italian coffee shops and caterers. In 1995, Costa Coffee was sold to Whitbread. The company operates several outlets in the UK and other countries in the world.
